They were formed in London by Chris Martin (vocals, piano), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), Guy Berryman (bass guitar), Will Champion (drums, percussion) and Phil Harvey (management). [1]

Selection criteria: My research for Coldplay covers added only acts who have a Wikipedia page to the list, which in theory means they are notable. Secondary sources: A fellow Wikipedian pointed out they would prefer to see more secondary sources where possible. I managed to go from 143 primary sources to 93.
The album's cover art combines colours and blocks to represent the title in Baudot code. The album contains twelve tracks, divided into respective halves labeled "X" and "Y", and an additional hidden song, "Til Kingdom Come", which is listed as "+" on the disc label and inside the record's booklet.
