The Malla Reddy College of Engineering And Technology (MRCET AUTONOMOUS ) is a technical institute established in 2004 with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education. It is located in Maisammaguda, Doolapally, Hyderabad. It is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
The institute was established in 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC), as a joint venture of the government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. [2] It was named after Madan Mohan Malaviya. V.G. Garde was its first principal. [citation needed] The college moved to the present campus in Jaipur in 1965. [7]

He is an educationist and a businessman in Telangana state. He is the founder and chairman of numerous colleges and research institutes including Malla Reddy Health City, [2] Malla Reddy Engineering College, and Malla Reddy University.
The founding principal of the college was Gopal Kishore Agrawal. It has great historical importance. [6] The main building of the college was inaugurated by Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on 18 April 1965. Effective from 26 June 2002, the college became a deemed university and was renamed Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology.
