Endeavour is a British television detective drama series created by Russell Lewis and co-produced by Mammoth Screen and Masterpiece in association with ITV Studios.It is a prequel to the long-running Inspector Morse series and was first broadcast on ITV1 in the United Kingdom on 2 January 2012 and on PBS in the United States on 1 July 2012, as part of the Masterpiece Mystery! anthology.
The fifth series, with six episodes, was set in 1968, [1] and the sixth series picked up eight months later, set in 1969. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] Series seven, set in 1970, began screening in February 2020, with the first episode shown in the United States on Masterpiece Theatre on 9 August that year.
DI Ronnie Box and DS Alan Jago, portrayed by Simon Harrison and Richard Riddell respectively. They both appeared in Series 6 Episode 1 Pylon, and in the end, DS Jago was fatally shot by DS Endeavour Morse, while DI Box is seriously wounded at the end of Series 6 Episode 4, Degüello.
