The company was founded by Alanson Partridge Brush (February 10, 1878, Michigan – March 6, 1952, Michigan). He was a self-taught prolific designer, working with Henry Leland at Oldsmobile, and went on to help design the original one-cylinder Cadillac engine. [1]
The E-M-F Company was an early American automobile manufacturer that produced automobiles from 1909 to 1912. The name E-M-F was gleaned from the initials of the three company founders: Barney Everitt (a custom auto-body builder from Detroit), William Metzger (formerly of Cadillac), and Walter Flanders (who had served as Henry Ford's production manager).
In 1930, Oakland reintroduced the Model 101 V8, again using a flathead architecture, on a 117" wheelbase and offered it as a roadster, phaeton, coupe, closed body sedan and sport coupe. Prices were listed at US$895 ($16,324 in 2023 dollars [7]) for the roadster or phaeton to US$1,045 ($19,060 in 2023 dollars [7]) for the Custom Sedan. [1]
The Series 23 or Series 24 had a wheelbase of 130–140 in (3,302–3,556 mm) and came as a touring car, 4-door sedan or 2-door roadster for 1910. It was used in a race against the 20th Century Limited train from Albany to New York City and a painting was created depicting the race, with the car winning the race.

The previously offered 2-door roadster was now given its own designation called the Series 25. 1,525 Series 22 were manufactured in 1910, and 1000 were built in 1911. It was replaced in 1912 by the Series 40 , in touring car and roadster body styles.
