Miamitown is located 16 miles (26 km) northwest of downtown Cincinnati. It is situated on the west bank of the Great Miami River at the intersection of Harrison Pike and Ohio State Route 128 (Hamilton Cleves Pike Road). Interstate 74 runs along the southern edge of the village, with access to it via Exit 7.
The township was named for its location at the point where the Great Miami River flows into the Ohio River, [4] at the state's low point. [5] The monument and tomb of U.S. President William Henry Harrison is located just off U.S. Route 50 in the township, and his former residence is located in nearby North Bend.
