Olympiacos F.C. is a Greek football club based in Piraeus. It is the most successful football club in Greece and has a long presence in UEFA competitions, making its debut on 13 September 1959, against AC Milan for the 1959–60 European Cup, the first Greek club to compete in a UEFA–sanctioned European competition. Olympiacos participated in Piraeus Championship from the first time in 1925, immediately after its inception. They were invincible and won the final defeating Piraikos with 4-2. In the early years they were a great opponent of Ethnikos Piraeus, who won the championship of 1928, while the two clubs tied in 1930 and were declared both champions.
Earlier, "SAFOP" (Association of Athenian Olympiacos Piraeus Fans) was created on Socratous Street and the "Red and White Army" behind Karaiskaki. Even earlier, in 1957, there was the "SFOP" (Association of Fans of Piraeus Olympiacos) with an organized presence on trips to Drama and Thessaloniki, but also to other cities in Greece.

They have played at their current home ground, Karaiskaki, since their foundation in 1925. Olympiacos entered the E.P.S. Piraeus in their first season, winning the league 3 times in a row 1925–1928.
