Holiday Valley Resort, known more commonly as just Holiday Valley, is a family-oriented vacation spot and ski resort in Ellicottville, New York. Established in 1957 by Nelson Pauly, John Fisher and Bill Northrup, the facility opened with four runs and one T-bar lift. Currently the resort contains 60 slopes and 13 lifts. [1]
Ellicottville – The village of Ellicottville is in the southwest corner of the town on US Route 219 and NY Route 242. Fancy Tract – A location on the eastern town line in the north part of the town. Holiday Valley – A ski resort south of Ellicottville village. HoliMont – A semi-private ski resort west of Ellicottville village.
The Holiday Valley ski resort is south of the village, and the Nannen Arboretum is north. Ellicottville is also home to the HoliMont Ski Club, the largest private ski club in North America. Because of the proximity to these two popular skiing destinations, Ellicottville is Cattaraugus County's primary tourist destination.

It is located in Cattaraugus County, mostly in Little Valley and Great Valley, with portions in Ellicottville and Mansfield. [2] In 1940, an 82-foot-6-inch-tall (25.15 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. The tower ceased fire lookout operations and then officially closed in early 1989.
Great Valley is a town in Cattaraugus County, New York, United States.The population was 1,991 at the 2020 census. [2] The town is named after its local geographical setting, a relative comparison of two tributaries (the other being the neighboring Little Valley) of the Allegheny River.
