The Artists Association of Nantucket offers year-round art education for students of all ages and levels. The Visual Arts Center is home to multimedia art studios, rental studios, the Champion Gallery, and the Kaaren and Charles Hale apartment for artists in residence.

The Gallery showcases fine art year-round, and features work by AAN Artist Members, established artists and emerging local talent, as well as artist demonstrations, student shows, art auctions, and community-oriented events that include certain exhibitions open to all island artists.
The exhibition is a long look into the storehouses of Nantucket art, showing works rarely seen and exploring a long, successful chapter of Nantucket history. It celebrates the hard work, time and treasure committed by these extraordinary women, and the men that worked alongside them, to provide a safe haven for artistic expression on the island.
Each year, AAN accepts new artists and welcomes them into the organization. AAN’s almost 300 Artist Members receive valuable benefits, including year-round exhibitions at the Big Gallery and Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, and resources to connect with professional and emerging artists.
