The Bell 204 and 205 are the civilian versions of the UH-1 Iroquois single-engine military helicopter of the Huey family of helicopters. They are type-certificated in the transport category and are used in a wide variety of applications, including crop dusting , cargo lifting, Forestry Operations, and aerial firefighting .
Bell developed a certified version of the UH-1H for the civil market. The aircraft incorporated minor changes for safety, such as dual sliding door locks and a baggage compartment in the tailboom. The Australian Defence force page lists the Bell 204/205 helicopter and not the UH-1 Iroquois, so maybe its a mistake on their end. The terms UH-1 and Bell 204/205 are often used interchangeably. SOme military forces bought modles form Bell as UH-1s, while others bought them as 204s or 205s, but they were really the same military model, or at ...
