Scurry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,932. [1] Its county seat is Snyder, [2] which is the home for Western Texas College. Scurry County is named for Confederate General William Scurry. The county was created in 1876 and organized in 1884. [3]
