The remainder of the home was demolished to construct the current mansion. The Governor's Mansion is a three-level, 30-room, Greek Revival style home built in 1967. It stands on approximately 18 acres (73,000 m 2) on historic West Paces Ferry Road in north-northwest Atlanta.
Rhodes Hall is a Romanesque Revival 9,000-square-foot (840 m 2) house inspired by the Rhineland castles that Rhodes admired on a trip to Europe in the late 1890s. Architect Willis F. Denny designed the unique home with Stone Mountain granite, incorporating medieval Romanesque, Victorian, and Arts and Crafts designs as well as necessary adaptations for an early 20th-century home.
The room is designed in the style of the Red Room at the White House. The curtains are by Scalamandré, founded by Franco Scalamandré.
