Brianna Marie Grier, 28, fell out of the patrol car while being taken to the sheriff's office.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is investigating the death of a Georgia woman who died after falling out of a moving police patrol car.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. EST on December 22, 2024, [6] [7] on a stationary F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station, a man approached the only other passenger on the train car, a woman who was sleeping, [3] [8] using a lighter to set fire to her clothing. The victim became engulfed in flames in a matter of seconds.
Around 1 p.m., authorities carried a body bag containing the woman’s corpse out of the train and placed it on a gurney. Then they wheeled it over to a medical examiner van and moved it inside.
Officials speculated that the latter caused her to fall from the porch and that the injuries were just a result of the 14 foot fall. Horsford's family and friends, however, were not convinced and called for a second independent autopsy; this was then carried out by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI). [5]
