The last part of this road has a gravel surface, and is difficult to traverse in poor weather. Buses run from Murmansk four days a week. The townscape is quite striking, and the location on the Barents Sea is picturesque. There is a good sandy beach in the village, which is used by locals and by Murmansk residents in warm weather.
