Cheburashka is an iconic Russian cartoon-character who later became a popular figure in Russian jokes (along with his friend, Gena the Crocodile). According to the creator of the character, Eduard Uspensky, Cheburashka is an "animal unknown to science", with large monkey-like ears and a body resembling that of a cub, who lives in a tropical forest.
An anthropomorphic saltwater crocodile who is the main antagonist of the Donkey Kong franchise. King K. Rool is the psychopathic king of the Kremlings who constantly antagonizes the Kongs, referring to them as "filthy apes", "monkey brains" and "ludicrous lemurs". He often steals Donkey Kong's banana hoard.
The crocodile's name is a typical diminutive of the Russian male name Gennady. Gena and Cheburashka , also a title character in the series, are best friends. The 50-year-old Gena works in a zoo as an attraction (or, as the original novel's author Uspensky had put it, "Gena the Crocodile worked in a zoo as a crocodile").
