The Hideout is a private community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lake and Salem Townships in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The community's population was 3,013 at the time of the 2010 United States Census. [1]
Lake Ariel also contains many churches and religious institutions. St. Thomas More's Catholic Church is located in the center of the community, while several Protestant churches are located at various places in the community. In Lake Ariel, there was the Lake Ariel Elementary School. Children from third to fifth grade attended this school.
As of the census of 2010, there were 5,269 people, 2,156 households, and 1,511 families residing in the township. The population density was 189.5 inhabitants per square mile (73.2/km 2).

Built in 1903 as a summer estate for Congressman William Connell (1827-1909), the buildings of this historic property were designed in the Adirondack Great Camp style. Six of the eight original structures remain, including the main house, a barn, a spring house, a pump house, the Coachman's Cabin, and an ice house.
