The Diocese of Colorado Springs (Latin: Dioecesis Coloratensium Fontium) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in central Colorado in the United States. St. Mary's Cathedral is the seat of the diocese in Colorado Springs. The Diocese of Colorado Springs was established on November 10, 1983. [1]
The motherhouse with its chapel is situated on ten acres of land south of the Black Forest near the city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. [5] The church’s adherence to Catholic orthodoxy has drawn many devout Catholics looking for a more traditional service; many congregants moved to Black Forest, in part, to attend, former members said. The first Mass was celebrated in Colorado Springs by the Rev. Joseph P. Machebeuf in 1873. [2] Catholics gathered in a variety of locations until the property on which St. Mary's sits was purchased for $3,100 in 1888. [2] Pease and Barber designed the present church in the Gothic Revival style. [3]

Bartolomé González Soltero was born in Mexico in 1580. [2]On 1 July 1641, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Urban VIII as Bishop of Santiago de Guatemala. [1] [2] On 5 July 1643, he was consecrated bishop by Bartolomé de Benavente y Benavides, Bishop of Antequera.

The First Congregational Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado is a historic church at 20 East Saint Vrain Street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. [1] [2] The church was organized and founded in 1874 in conjunction with the founding of Colorado College.
