Paragliding pilots most commonly lose their height by flying a figure 8 over a landing zone until they reach the correct height, then line up into the wind and give the glider full speed. Once the correct height (about a metre above ground) is achieved the pilot will stall the glider in order to land. Landing figure 8 pattern
It is a Standard Class glider with a 15-metre span, and laminar-flow airfoil section designed by Professor Franz Wortmann. The all-moving tailplane, a feature of many designs of that period due to its theoretically higher efficiency, caused less than desirable high-speed stability characteristics, and so modifications were made to the early design.
A motor glider conversion of the K 8B was developed by LVD (the Flying Training School of the Detmold Aero Club) similar to their conversion of a Scheibe Bergfalke IV known as the BF IV-BIMO, in which a Lloyd LS-400 piston engine mounted in the fuselage drives a pair of small two-blade pusher propellers rotating within cutouts in each wing near the trailing edge.
Gwazi Gliders 2001 A hang glider flat ride for children. Children push and pull bars to raise and lower their gliders. Bird Gardens [16] Rosita's Djembe Fly-Away 2010 A swing ride. It has the smallest height restriction in the park as children over 44" may not ride. Sesame Street Safari of Fun [17] Falcon's Fury: 2014
The Duo Discus replaced the Janus as Schempp Hirth's high-performance two-seater trainer. It has a four-piece wing with a span of 20 metres. As with most tandem two-seat gliders, its wing is slightly swept forward so the wing root can be slightly aft to allow the rear pilot an improved view.
Single-seat high performance fiberglass Glaser-Dirks DG-808 glider Aerobatic glider with tip smoke, pictured on July 2, 2005, in Lappeenranta, Finland. A glider is a fixed-wing aircraft that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction of the air against its lifting surfaces, and whose free flight does not depend on an engine. [1]
