Edmundston (/ ˈ ɛ d m ə n d s t ə n /) is a city in Madawaska County, New Brunswick, Canada. [6] Established in 1850, it had a population of 16,437 as of 2021. On January 1, 2023, Edmundston amalgamated with the village of Rivière-Verte and parts of two local service districts ; [ 7 ] [ 8 ] revised census figures have not been released.
There were no CMAs for which negative growth was recorded in the 2021 census. The five CAs that grew the fastest were in British Columbia, Southern Ontario, and Alberta, while the five CAs whose population declined the most were in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, Northern British Columbia, Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador.

This was replaced by the current one-story brick border station in 1960. For many years, Canada had a small wooden border station with a red roof.
