Oak Bluffs is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Oak Bluffs, Dukes County, Massachusetts, United States, on the island of Martha's Vineyard.The Oak Bluffs CDP comprises the most densely settled part of the town, including the neighborhoods of Vineyard Highlands, Harthaven, and part of Eastville.
Dukes County was thus established as Dukes County, New York, on November 1, 1683, and included all of Mayhew's lands – Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and the Elizabeth Islands. The county was transferred to Massachusetts on October 7, 1691, and at the same time Nantucket Island was split into the separate Nantucket County, Massachusetts .
