Deptford Township (pronounced DEP-ford [20]) is a township in Gloucester County in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 31,977, [10] [11] an increase of 1,416 (+4.6%) from the 2010 census count of 30,561, [21] [22] which in turn reflected an increase of 3,798 (+14.2%) from the 26,763 counted in the 2000 census.
Tall Pines State Preserve is a 110-acre (45 ha) nature preserve in Gloucester County, New Jersey. The preserve opened in November 2015 as the first state park in Gloucester County. It is located on Bark Bridge Road in Deptford Township and the Sewell section of Mantua Township. [2]
Ladd's Castle, also known as Candor Hall, is a historic house located at 1337 Lafayette Avenue in the Colonial Manor section of West Deptford Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Kenneth A. Gewertz (December 1, 1934 – December 12, 2006) was an American Democratic Party politician who served as mayor of Deptford Township, New Jersey, and in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1972 to 1980. His advocacy efforts on behalf of his hometown earned him a reputation as "Mr. Deptford".
