The Middle Raccoon River flows into the South Raccoon River about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Redfield. [7] The South Raccoon River, about 72 miles (116 km) long, [4] rises in northeastern Audubon County and flows generally southeastwardly through Guthrie and Dallas counties, past the town of Guthrie Center.
The district is almost entirely in Guthrie County, with a small portion in Audubon County, and serves the city of Guthrie Center and the surrounding rural areas. [3] It has entered into a "grade-sharing" relationship with Adair–Casey Community School District in which the latter sends its high school students to the Guthrie Center school. [4]
