John Lee Thompson (1 August 1914 – 30 August 2002) was an English film director, screenwriter and producer. Initially an exponent of social realism , he became known as a versatile and prolific director of thrillers, action, and adventure films.
Born William Edward, he was called 'Billy Eddie' by his mother, which he eventually shortened to B. E. [2] While in high school, he formed B.E. Taylor and The Establishment. In the 1970s he fronted a number of bands and performed at clubs and venues in the Tri-state of Pennsylvania; Ohio and West Virginia.
She was born Linda Belle Lee to the prominent Lee family of Virginia. Her father was Louisville banker William Paca Lee and her mother Lily Lee (née Hill). Friends introduced her to Edward Russell Thomas, a son of Union Army general Samuel Thomas and owner of the New York Morning Telegraph (and who later became the first American to kill someone in a car accident) [citation needed].
