Bloomington–Normal, officially known as the Bloomington, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area, is a metropolitan statistical area in Central Illinois anchored by the twin municipalities of Bloomington and Normal.
Time is a village in the Midwestern United States, in the West Central region of Illinois. It was established as a village in 1857 in Hardin Township, which was then located in Pike County, Illinois. The slogan for the village, created in 1910, is "Time marches on 1857-2007." It thrived during the 20th century but later met a decline.
The city is also the site of the Lincoln Monument State Memorial, marking the spot where Abraham Lincoln joined the Illinois militia at Fort Dixon in 1832 during the Black Hawk War. The memorial is located on the west side of Dixon's main north-south street, Galena Avenue (U.S. Route 52, also Illinois Route 26), north of the Rock River. [4]
