Hexadecimal (also known as base-16 or simply hex) is a positional numeral system that represents numbers using a radix (base) of sixteen. Unlike the decimal system representing numbers using ten symbols, hexadecimal uses sixteen distinct symbols, most often the symbols "0"–"9" to represent values 0 to 9 and "A"–"F" to represent values from ten to fifteen.
A floating-point variable can represent a wider range of numbers than a fixed-point variable of the same bit width at the cost of precision. A signed 32-bit integer variable has a maximum value of 2 31 − 1 = 2,147,483,647, whereas an IEEE 754 32-bit base-2 floating-point variable has a maximum value of (2 − 2 −23) × 2 127 ≈ 3.4028235 ...
However, a binary number system with base −2 is also possible. The rightmost bit represents (−2) 0 = +1, the next bit represents (−2) 1 = −2, the next bit (−2) 2 = +4 and so on, with alternating sign. The numbers that can be represented with four bits are shown in the comparison table below.
The number 4,294,967,295 is a whole number equal to 2 32 − 1. It is a perfect totient number, meaning it is equal to the sum of its iterated totients. [1] [2] It follows 4,294,967,294 and precedes 4,294,967,296.
Xbox 360 was the first high-definition gaming console to utilize the ATI Technologies 256-bit GPU Xenos [2] before the introduction of the current gaming consoles especially Nintendo Switch. Some buses on the newer System on a chip (e.g. Tegra developed by Nvidia) utilize 64-bit, 128-bit, 256-bit, or higher.
PDFtk (short for PDF Toolkit) is a toolkit for manipulating Portable Document Format (PDF) documents. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] It runs on Linux , Windows and macOS . [ 5 ] It comes in three versions: PDFtk Server ( open-source command-line tool ), PDFtk Free ( freeware ) and PDFtk Pro ( proprietary paid ). [ 2 ]
The convention for digit group separators historically varied among countries, but usually sought to distinguish the delimiter from the decimal separator. Traditionally, English-speaking countries (except South Africa) [34] employed commas as the delimiter – 10,000 – and other European countries employed periods or spaces: 10.000 or 10 000.
This type can be stored in memory using a single bit, but is often given a full byte for convenience of addressing and speed of access. A four-bit quantity is known as a nibble (when eating, being smaller than a bite ) or nybble (being a pun on the form of the word byte ).
