The Nissan GT-R (Gran Turismo–Racing; model code: R35; Japanese: 日産・GT-R; Nissan GT-R) is a car built by Japanese marque Nissan since 2007. It has a 2+2 seating layout and is considered both a sports car and a grand tourer. The engine is front-mid mounted and drives all four wheels.

The RB26DETT engine is a 2.6 L (2,568 cc) twin-turbo inline-six engine manufactured by Nissan, for use in the 1989-2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R. The RB26DETT engine block is made from cast iron, while the cylinder head is made from aluminium alloy, which contains DOHC 4 valves per cylinder (24 valves in total) setup.
Nissan introduced the updated GT-R Track Edition in 2019, for the 2020 model year at the 2019 New York Auto Show. The car featured the drivetrain from the GT-R Nismo, the VR38DETT engine producing 441 kW; 592 hp (600 PS) at 6,800 rpm and 652 N⋅m (481 lb⋅ft) of torque at 3,200–5,800 rpm. [5]

In 1987, Nissan began work on an engine exclusively for race use; the result was the VEJ30 engine, developed by Yoshikazu Ishikawa. This engine was based on old technology, and was not a success. For 1988, the VEJ30 was improved by Yoshimasa Hayashi and renamed the VRH30. Changes included increasing the displacement to 3.4 L (3,396 cc).
