Cypress Woods High School, commonly known as Cy Woods, is a secondary school located in Cypress, which is an unincorporated area of Harris County, Texas, United States, near Houston. Since the start of the 2023-2024 School Year, the principal of Cypress Woods is Lloyd Turner, who was the principal for Aragon Middle School. [2]
Aragon High School was established in 1961 to accommodate development and population growth in San Mateo. The campus is located in the affluent Foothill Terrace neighborhood [6] to the north of State Route 92 and west of State Route 82 (El Camino Real), on the border with the town of Hillsborough.
The first official classes in the area were held in a church. However, in 1884, local residents built a one-room house on donated land. [9] In 1939, an election was held in which voters in the Cypress and Fairbanks school systems approved the creation of the Cypress-Fairbanks Consolidated School District; the measure passed by a vote of 129-66 in Cypress and 90-87 in Fairbanks.
