Paradise Island is an island in the Bahamas formerly known as Hog Island. The island, with an area of 277 hectares (685 acres) [ 1 ] (2.8 km 2 /1.1 sq mi), is located just off the shore of the city of Nassau , which is itself located on the northern edge of the island of New Providence .
It is bordered to the west by Hawaiian Acres, to the north by Orchidlands Estates, and to the northeast by Hawaiian Paradise Park. It is 15 miles (24 km) south of Hilo . According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.1 km 2 ), all of it land.
Kalani Oceanside Retreat is a non-profit retreat center occupying a 120-acre compound located in the Puna District of the Big Island of Hawai'i. Kalani hosts residential workshops, sponsors community arts programs, special events programs, and provides lodging and meals for guests.
It is located on the windward side (east side) of the island and shares borders with South Hilo district in the north and Kaʻū district in the west.
