In 1779, Vermont had two counties. The western side of the state was Bennington County and the eastern was Cumberland County. [1] In 1781, three new counties (including then-called Washington that became part of New Hampshire) were created out of Cumberland County, and the remainder of the county was renamed Windham.
The Ira C. Allen Mansion, now the Marble Mansion Inn, is a historic property on the Green in Fair Haven, Vermont, United States.It is a contributing property to the Fair Haven Green Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 as the Allen-Castle House.

Georgetown on Clark's map of Fairfield County, published in 1856. As of the census [3] of 2000, there were 1,650 people, 572 households, and 455 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 581.8 inhabitants per square mile (224.6/km 2). There were 597 housing units at an average density of 210.5 per square mile (81.3/km 2).
