Heather Michele O'Rourke (December 27, 1975 – February 1, 1988) was an American child actress. She had her breakthrough starring as Carol Anne Freeling in the supernatural horror film Poltergeist (1982), which received critical acclaim and established her as an influential figure in the genre.

And in 1988, her younger onscreen sibling and Poltergeist's literal poster child, Heather O'Rourke, passed away at age 12 following a serious case of intestinal stenosis.
Note: This is Heather O'Rourke's second and final appearance before she died less than 10 months later. She was close friends in real life with recurring guest star Keri Houlihan (J.J. Rutherford), and appeared as a guest star on Houlihan's NBC series Our House between her first and second appearances on The New Leave it to Beaver .
