The Yorkshire St Leger also known as the Doncaster St Leger is a greyhound racing competition held annually at Doncaster Greyhound Stadium. [1] It was inaugurated in 2005 and offered a prize of £12,000 in 2019. The event was not held from 2020 to 2022 but returned in 2023, with reduced winner's prize money of £3,000. [2]

[1] It is sometimes referred to as Meadow Court Stadium and was previously known as Stainforth Stadium. It is not to be confused with the former Doncaster Greyhound Track that existed near the York Road.
In 1928 Sprotbrough west of Doncaster was another site where a colliery existed and as was the trend at the time greyhound tracks popped up wherever collieries existed. The track on Newlands Drive, off the York Road at the back of Regent Grove [1] was opened on 14 April 1928 by the Mansfield Greyhound Racecourse Co.
