The track features live horse races Thursday through Sunday from early June to late July at its facility at Expo Square Pavilion in the Tulsa State Fairgrounds. While the Expo Square is known for the annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals & Tulsa Shootout races in the Expo Center, the Fair Meadows Race Track has hosted some motorsports events as well.

Union stockyards in the United States were centralized urban livestock yards where multiple rail lines delivered animals from ranches and farms for slaughter and meat packing. A stockyard company managed the work of unloading the livestock, which was faster and more efficient than using railway staff. [ 1 ]
It was the finals event for the 1970 season, and was held at the Tulsa Assembly Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where it remained the home of the IFR through 1973. In 1974, the IFR relocated to Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1975, the event returned to Tulsa, where it remained through 1990.

A horse show was added in 1908, and a rodeo was added in 1931. By 1925, an event for 4-H, the 4-H Roundup, was also held in conjunction with the stock show. By 1981, the organization owned numerous buildings, more than twenty acres of stockyards, several acres of parking, and assets totaling about five million dollars. [2]
