The Love County Courthouse, located at 100 S. 4th St. in Marietta, Oklahoma, was built in 1907–10 to serve Love County. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. [1] It is three stories tall, or two stories plus a raised basement. It is 75 by 75 feet (23 m × 23 m) in plan. [2]
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has an area of 532 square miles (1,380 km 2), of which 514 square miles (1,330 km 2) is land and 18 square miles (47 km 2) (3.5%) is water. [4] It is the fifth-smallest county in Oklahoma by land area. Love County is within the Red River Plains physiographic region, with a rolling to hilly topography.

Burneyville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Love County, Oklahoma, United States.The post office was established May 5, 1879. It was named for David C. Burney, father of Benjamin Crooks Burney, who had been Governor of the Chickasaw Nation from 1878 through 1880.

Thackerville is situated near the intersection of U.S. Highway 77 and State Highway 153, five miles north of the Texas state line and ten miles south of Marietta in south central Love County. [4] [5] Interstate 35 passes through town, putting Thackerville on the main route between Oklahoma City and Dallas/Ft. Worth. [6]
