The Magic Flute (German: The Magic Flute - Das Vermächtnis der Zauberflöte) is a 2022 German musical fantasy film directed by Florian Sigl and written by Andrew Lowery, based on the 1791 opera of the same name by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The work is in the form of a Singspiel , a popular form during the time it was written that included both singing and spoken dialogue.
The Nutcracker and the Magic Flute contains various pieces from The Nutcracker but also from other works by Tchaikovsky, including excerpts of Swan Lake. Despite its title and the presence of music by Mozart in the soundtrack, the film has little to do with The Magic Flute. [2] It also contains music by Gluck as well as Brahms' Hungarian Dances.
The Magic Flute, which was released by Shout! Studios this month, had its world premiere at the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) in Switzerland last year, and marked Sigl’s feature debut.
