Beeston was formerly a township and chapelry in the parish of Leeds, [11] in 1866 Beeston became a separate civil parish, on 26 March 1904 the parish was abolished and merged with Holbeck [10] and became part of Leeds in 1925. In 1901 the parish had a population of 3323. [12]
