Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose is a 2023 British black comedy film written and directed by Adam Sigal and starring Simon Pegg, Minnie Driver and Christopher Lloyd and featuring the voice of Neil Gaiman. It is based on the legend of Gef the talking mongoose, a story given extensive coverage by the tabloid press in Britain in the early 1930s.
Nandor Fodor, Research Officer for the International Institute for Psychical Research, stayed at the Irvings' house for a week without seeing or hearing Gef. Fodor disbelieved any deliberate deception had occurred and moulded a complex psychological theory to explain Gef based on "a split-off part" of Jim Irving's personality. [9]

In December, 1938 the institute merged with the British College of Psychic Science becoming the Institute for Experimental Metaphysics.
