Ouray, Ute Chief, Colorado, 1874. Ouray (/ ˈ jʊər eɪ /, c. 1833 – August 20, 1880) was a Native American chief of the Tabeguache (Uncompahgre) band of the Ute tribe, then located in western Colorado.
