Chesterfield College is a further and higher education college in the town of Chesterfield in North East Derbyshire, England. The main college campus is based at Infirmary Road Chesterfield. The college also has a satellite site in Derby. It serves over 21,000 students of which 5,600 are full-time attends. [1]
On November 17, 2009, Saint Peter's hosted Monmouth University in a men's basketball game, with a 6:00 a.m. start time, as part of the second annual ESPN's 24–Hour College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon. The University hosted an 11-hour "all-nighter" of campus activities with free breakfast and a pre-game pep rally prior to the game.

On May 10, 2007, the board of trustees appointed Eugene J. Cornacchia the 22nd President of Saint Peter's College. Cornacchia was the first layperson to serve as president of the 135-year-old Catholic, Jesuit institution. Cornacchia retired in June 2024, and Hubert Benitez was named the 23rd President of Saint Peter's University as of July 1, 2024.
The modern college was founded by Francis James Chavasse, former Bishop of Liverpool, opened as St Peter's Hall in 1929, and achieved full collegiate status as St Peter's College in 1961. Founded as a men's college, it has been coeducational since 1979.
