On December 21, 1972, the Mount San Antonio Community College District received the construction permit for 90.1 FM, broadcasting with 3.5 watts. The station went on the air January 2, 1974, [2] [3] after being a carrier current station. [4] In fall 2011, the station was rebranded as "90.1 FM MtRock" after a management change at the college.

Originally known as Mt. San Antonio College Stadium or Mt. Sac Stadium, the stadium was dedicated on October 8, 1948 by then local congressman, Richard Nixon. The venue was renamed in the early 1990s after Hilmer Lodge, who created the relays in 1959 and was the college's first track and field and cross country coach .
