The constants listed here are known values of physical constants expressed in SI units; that is, physical quantities that are generally believed to be universal in nature and thus are independent of the unit system in which they are measured. Many of these are redundant, in the sense that they obey a known relationship with other physical ...

He also noted that while the Champernowne constant continued fraction contains sporadic large terms, the continued fraction of the Copeland–ErdÅ‘s Constant do not exhibit this property. A physical constant, sometimes fundamental physical constant or universal constant, is a physical quantity that cannot be explained by a theory and therefore must be measured experimentally. It is distinct from a mathematical constant , which has a fixed numerical value, but does not directly involve any physical measurement.
A concise four-page summary of the most important material in the Green Book was published in the July–August 2011 issue of Chemistry International, the IUPAC news magazine. The second edition of the Green Book (ISBN 0-632-03583-8) was first published in 1993. It was reprinted in 1995, 1996, and 1998.
Aluminum warrants special mention because it is the most abundant metal and the third most abundant element in the Earth's crust; [3] despite this, it is not essential for life. With this sole exception, the eight most highly abundant elements in the Earth's crust, making up over 90% of the crustal mass, [3] are also essential for life.
According to this scale, fluorine is the most electronegative element, while cesium is the least electronegative element. [ 17 ] Trend-wise, as one moves from left to right across a period in the modern periodic table , the electronegativity increases as the nuclear charge increases and the atomic size decreases.

Other constants are notable more for historical reasons than for their mathematical properties. The more popular constants have been studied throughout the ages and computed to many decimal places. All named mathematical constants are definable numbers, and usually are also computable numbers (Chaitin's constant being a significant exception).
