Lorenzo Marvin Baker was born April 25, 1834, and came to Columbus, Ohio in 1854. [1] He worked at the Neil House Hotel, and was an officer in the state penitentiary under Governor Chase, and served for a short time in the Union Army during the American Civil War. [1] [2] In 1862 he started a photography business and established a gallery. [1] [2]
In 2010, Clarke was a recipient of the Susan C. Petrey Clarion Scholarship Fund. [1] In 2013, she was a finalist for the Philip K. Dick Award. [10] She has also been nominated for the Young Adult Library Services Association Best Fiction for Young Adults Award.

The Columbus Park of Roses, also known as the Whetstone Park of Roses, is a public park and rose garden in Columbus, Ohio. The 13-acre (5.3 ha) park is located within the city's larger Whetstone Park in the Clintonville neighborhood. The free public park is operated by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
