The Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (University of Malaysia, Terengganu) or UMT, formerly known as Kolej Universiti Sains dan Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysian University College of Science and Technology) or KUSTEM, is a university in Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, Malaysia. It was officially chartered on 1 February 2007.

The university was first established as an Islamic educational college known as Kolej Ugama Sultan Zainal Abidin (abbreviation KUSZA; Jawi: كوليج أڬام سلطان زين العابدين; English: Sultan Zainal Abidin Islamic College) on 27 January 1980, under the administration of the Terengganu Religious Affairs Department.
A total of 411 students were enrolled in June 2002 for its first intake. The university has two campuses, the award-winning [14] Kampar campus in the state of Perak while the other one is in Sungai Long located within the Klang Valley in the state of Selangor. [15]
The campus offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with approximately 1600 students in total. [16] UPM used to have another branch campus in Mengabang Telipot, Kuala Terengganu from 1996 until the establishment of Terengganu University College in 1999. Originally, it was the Centre for Fisheries and Marine Science under UPM.
