The Westjuden had settled in more affluent areas such as Garnethill in Glasgow where Garnethill Synagogue was built between 1879 and 1881 in Victorian Romaneque style. It remains the oldest active synagogue in Scotland and now houses the Scottish Jewish Archives Centre [18] and Scottish Jewish Heritage Centre. [19]
