The National Science and Maths Quiz is an annual science and mathematics content-based national level quiz competition for senior high schools in Ghana. The yearly competition has been produced by Primetime Limited , an education-interest advertising and public relations agency, since 1993.
The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the main examination to qualify students for admission into secondary and vocational schools in Ghana, [1] and Nigeria. [2] [3] It is written after three years of junior secondary education. [4] It is administered by the Ghana Education Service under the Ministry of Education.

Prempeh College was the first school to win the National Science and Maths Quiz in 1994 and 1996. [13] The College also won the 2015, 2017 and 2021 editions of the Ghana National Science and Maths Quiz that makes them one of the most successful schools in the National Science and Maths Quiz competitions.
