The Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of two PharmD granting institutions within the state of Washington.In 2013, the college and its programs were relocated to the WSU Health Sciences Spokane campus, [1] which also houses the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and College of Nursing.
On September 3, 2010, to recognize the university's long-term vision to advance WSU Spokane in the health sciences arena and recent parallel efforts to launch a medical school in Spokane, [3] the WSU Board of Regents designated WSU Spokane as the university's health science campus. [8] In recent years WSU Spokane has expanded significantly.
On August 18, 2017, the school held its white coat ceremony for the inaugural class of 60 students. The school uses a community-based model of medical education, training physicians for the first two years on the WSU Spokane campus, then distributing the class across four regional campuses located in: Everett, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver.
