Ar-Raniry State Islamic University Banda Aceh (Bahasa Indonesia: Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh or it is simply called UIN Ar-Raniry (UINAR), is a public Islamic university in Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The University is run under the auspices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Initially, the university started as a high school, which was managed and founded by the Abulyatama Foundation in Banda Aceh.The foundation also manages Islamic boarding schools, kindergartens, elementary schools, junior high schools, general high schools, STMIK College of Information and Computer Management, AKPER, Nursing Academy and University, all of which are named Abulyatama.
Rumoh Aceh is the largest and tallest of all vernacular house types found in Aceh Province, the others are the Rumoh Santeut and the Rangkang. [1] The Rumoh Aceh reflects the culture of the Acehnese people. These houses can still be found in the periphery of Banda Aceh, although they are on the verge of extinction. [2]
