Slavoj Žižek (/ ˈ s l ɑː v ɔɪ ˈ ʒ iː ʒ ɛ k / ⓘ SLAH-voy ZHEE-zhek; Slovene: [ˈsláːʋɔj ˈʒíːʒək]; born 21 March 1949) is a Slovenian Marxist philosopher, cultural theorist and public intellectual.
