History. Allen Glen High School first opened its doors in 1992. Its name was inspired by the name of the suburb, Allens Nek. [1] William Pope was elected as the schools' first headmaster, with 199 pupils. The first pupils wore t-shirts and jeans but have since changed and now wear official school uniform. [2][3]
The first Allen High School, built in 1910 at the corner of Belmont and Cedar, was a two-story brick building housing six classrooms and an auditorium, and saw the first graduating class of eight students in 1914.
