So the compact SUV is what we like. The wife will drive this and she is very easy on vehicles, drives like an old lady. We need another vehicle that will last 10 years at least with good reliability. Going 5+ years without a car payment is a nice feeling.
4 year old SUV lasting another 10, isn't that long a haul. Some will need a repair or two in that period, but if you're not paying a premium for something specific only based on "odds" of a failure, that's just inherent in vehicle ownership, that most vehicles will last 20+ years if properly maintained and not totaled in an accident.
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is one of the most reliable CUVs on the market according to Consumer Reports. Its was their most reliable in 2014 and the drivetrain hasn't changed. I bought two 2010 Lancer Sportbacks with the same 2.4 and CVT and I haven't had either one of them in for a warranty repair.

The Escape has also been plagued with problems. Probably Ford's least reliable vehicle. There's been a ton of recalls across all three generations. Not for minor stuff either. If you're looking for a compact SUV, I'd probably look at a RAV4 or CR-V. Tons of them available used and they seem to hold up pretty good.
While car shopping she got me to help her and one of the things I noticed is small SUV's are pretty much all automatic AWD. You have to go up to the mid-size for true control, like with the Highlander. And actually I think the new Highlanders are more like big RAV 4's than small real SUV's.
Im looking for an SUV around the size of the FOrd explorer and my budget is just 15k, so obviously im gonna have to get a used one. for those w/ first hand experience, is the ford explorer a nice reliable car? does it have a decent milege per gallon ratio for an SUV? If not please recommend me a...
A compact and reliable compressor that can handle tires up to 33". The 88P is our most popular medium-duty tire inflator, and it's ideal for new and experienced off-roaders looking for a fast and dependable unit that will not break the bank.
2.19% Gigabyte. 3.43% ASRock. 4.44% MSI. This time it is ASUS that arrives first, followed by Gigabyte. The scores of ASRock and MSI are not very good. In detail here are the return rates for Z170 motherboards (more than 100 sales, italics between 100 and 200 sales): 6.64% MSI Z170A Gaming Pro.
