Michael Malone (born September 15, 1971) is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He had also been the head coach of the Sacramento Kings in 2013–2014.
Malone was born in Durham, North Carolina, [2] on November 22, 1942. [3] [4] His father worked as a psychiatrist; his mother was a teacher who was deaf. [4] His family relocated to Atlanta when he was six years old. [2] [5] He lived with his mother after his parents divorced. [4]
Malone's father, also named Brendan, unloaded freight cars for the Railway Express Agency. [3] Malone then attended Iona College.
