The name Sayori is a fusion of the Japanese names "Sayuri" and "Saori". [2] When writing the game, Salvato found that he was recognizing the "reality" of characters like Sayori. He wanted to connect more with the characters, and thus explored things like their "insecurities and realistic personality traits" on top of their "stock archetypes".
